The epic conclusion of The Reformation Trilogy picks up the narrator’s story right where we left it at the end of Heresy. He is completely broken and ready to be rebuilt in the image of Christ. In the opening track, we are presented with two conflicting world views vying for attention in his head. Only one must prevail, and the choice is made. The rest of the album details how this new hope and transformation works out: through repentance, humility, confession, and ultimately faith with a healthy dose of resilience.
Sin is now viewed for what it is: not a pleasure he allows himself, but something that hinders his pursuit of God. While it will always be present, sin is no longer the driving force and has been replaced with a hunger and thirst for God’s presence. Ultimately, the narrator must return to the world, though, and he must be equipped to deal with the Adversary. He must remain vigilant and always on guard, lest this whole disaster happen again.
And finally, even after all of this, we can all still have a good laugh, thanks to the never-ending shenanigans of our favorite weirdo-hero - the legendary Florida Man.
